At turn down service, a beautifully wrapped Lord Jameson treat will be left on the pup’s pillow. Upon check out, a selection of Lord Jameson’s artisanal organic treats will be presented at front of house as a parting gift. The price of the Pet Amenity Program is US$125 per dog.
At the heart of Lord Jameson is an appreciation for the bond between humans and dogs. The brand seeks to kindle the unconditional companionship that dogs have shared with humans for thousands of years by treating dogs to a delightful culinary experience and donating proceeds to support service organizations throughout the country. Prior to entering the boutique pet food business, Lord Jameson had its beginnings in animal-assisted therapy services and partnered with organizations such as The Good Dog Foundation. With such feel-good roots, it’s hard not the get behind this heart of gold startup.
Launched in New York City in summer 2016, Lord Jameson prides itself on artfully pairing all natural, fresh organic ingredients into healthy treats that are gourmet in flavor and beautiful in form. The entire launch line up is made with the highest quality organic ingredients sourced only in the United States, including coconut, fruits and vegetables, oat and rice flour. All treats are vegan and free of preservatives, artificial colors, flavors and GMO ingredients. They are also wheat, corn, soy and dairy free.
Lord Jameson was originally inspired by founder Sarah Goldberger’s loyal dog Jameson. The 6-year-old Cocker Spaniel became a professional certified therapy dog through The Good Dog Foundation in New York City in 2012. Goldberger went through all the training courses and became his certified handler. She told WeWork that she was amazed by “the powerful emotions that my soul would encounter by watching my beloved dog delicately and sweetly brighten the world of others just by being himself—sharing love and affection for all those around him. I call it his “purpose.” I believe every dog has one—a “purpose,” that is—Jameson’s is clearly to help humans heal from emotional and cognitive stresses.” The philanthropic pair have been known to visit Gilda’s Club, NYU, and 80th Street Residence.
Goldberger was driven to build a business to honor the role of dogs in human civilization. What better way to lavish gratitude on a dog than with wholesome treats? Goldberger had been making Jameson’s food for years, including treats, and so began a passion project that will now be shared with scores of Gansevoort guests.
Guests staying at Gansevoort Meatpacking can enjoy neighborhood strolls around Chelsea, the West Village, and the iconic High Line Park. At Gansevoort Park Avenue, pooches strut their stuff through the scenic Gramercy Park and on Madison and 5th Avenues.
