Dîner en Bark Supper Club Spring Edition

On Monday April 3rd, Get Leashed & Company private members club members gathered at Boehmer restaurant for the third edition of Dîner en Bark, a dog-friendly supper club. That’s right, our dinner guests came with their canine companions for an evening of live music, culinary delights, and local, award winning wines.

Chef Paul Boehmer, seen with his Sheepdog, Buddy, designed a four course menu of seasonal fare for guests to enjoy, paired perfectly with wines by our presenting partners, Vineland Estates and Featherstone Estate Winery.

The event, previously featured in Toronto Life, is the place for Toronto’s petset to mix, mingle, share a cheers, and #LiveBeyondTheDogPark. The popular cover duo 60 Cycle Hum were on hand, with their dog Murphy, to provide musical entertainment, from Bowie to Winehouse and more. While the four course meal was for the humans, we would never let our doggie guests go hungry. While their parents perused the dog treat bar, with handmade ‘bitch’ biscuits, pups’ tails wagged happily.

Some of our favorite dog-friendly wineries of Niagara came to lead our guests through a tasting, starting with the Vineland Estates Reserve Brut Sparkling Wine 2013 and finishing the dessert course with the Featherstone ‘Frostbite’ Select Late Harvest Gewurztraminer 2016. A dinner favorite, the Featherstone Black Sheep Riesling 2016, is actually named after the sheep who help to make it. This wine is made through a very unique process, where winery sheep eat leaves from the grape plants, exposing the grapes to more sunlight.
