Dîner en Bark Supper Club: Summer Edition

A summer soiree for cultured canines

By: The Get Leashed Events Team

It’s hard to believe that a little idea a year ago, to throw a dog-friendly dinner party with friends, has evolved and is still going strong and growing. Get Leashed & Company recently hosted the fourth Dîner en Bark Supper Club at Boehmer Restaurant in Toronto. This event brings together the petset for an evening out with their dogs, among like-minded people, to share a meal and conversations together. Basically, it’s living our beyond the dog park motto.

Dogs were treated to a canine confectionery of cookies and treats, from the most decadent to dehydrated and healthy. Humans filled treat bags for their pups in between glasses of Aperol spritz and Tawse Sparkling Riesling. Following the cocktail hour, a multi-course meal from Chef Paul Boehmer was served, with wine pairings carefully chosen by our friends at Tawse Winery.

Tawse, voted Canada’s Winery of the Year in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2016, and unites traditional winemaking techniques with state-of-the-art technology. For the first course, the Tawse 2013 Chardonnay was served, followed by the 2013 Pinot Noir, and finishing with the Chardonnay Ice Wine for dessert. To ensure our guests never missed a bite of their meal, our friends at Unleashed in the City were on hand to provide table side dog walking service at guests’ request. Who says dining with dogs can’t be distinctly sophisticated!
