This Sunday, the music industry will descend on Toronto for the sickest, beat-pumpin’, hot ticket of the year – The 2014 MMVAs. With star-studded appearances by Lorde, Imagine Dragons, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Kellan Lutz, Teen Wolf’s Tyler Posey and co-hosts, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, the action-packed awards show is expected to tickle Father’s Day revelers in all the right ways. Since we know you love to get on down with your bad selves, Get Leashed crashed the downtown Toronto condo of 2014 MMVA host, Lauren Toyota and her contraband cat, Snicklefritz, for an exclusive on the music event of the summer.

Snickle is Toyota’s curious and cuddly counterpart and quite frankly, one badass feline, boasting several social media profiles and a mounting resume of TV and online appearances. While Snickle won’t be attending this year’s MMVAs, his fans can be sure the cat won’t have his tongue while tweeting and instagraming right up until the big night. So, what are Snix’ picks for this year’s big winners? He’s absolutely “paws-itive” that his latest obsession, Katy Perry, will add another accolade to her mantle. Kitty Purry, you’d better watch your back because Snix isn’t above a catfight when it comes to banking lap-time with his favorite songstress.

It’s obvi that Lauren Toyota is livin’ the dream. And we mean that literally! The Mississauga native, MTV personality and repeat MMVA host who once imagined hosting the awards show from deep in the audience now finds herself center stage at Canada’s coolest music celebration. Toyota credits her passion for music and culture as the byproduct of growing up near Toronto with easy access to the thriving Canadian rock music scene of the mid ‘90s. “There was a real national identity in the sound that came from bands when I was growing up. I could relate to where they were coming from. I felt that I wanted to be part of that culture,” says Toyota. This year, as she prepares to lead the country in recognizing its most influential performers, she IS part of that culture.

Be sure to catch Lauren on the 2014 MMVAs this Sunday, June 15 @ 9E / 6P.
