Sales, PR and one ridiculously good looking dog!
By the Get Leashed Doggy Style team
During December, our Doggy Style features are graced with cheer when everyone’s homes are decorated for the holidays. What’s even better is when people’s dogs are decorated too, and although Louie the Goldendoodle was likely completely oblivious to his collar; we like to think he was knowingly extra excitable with holiday joy.
This will be Kris and Mark’s first Christmas with Louie. They got him just six months ago but already he’s coming into his chilled out, sophisticated Goldendoodle personality. Of course, his puppy energy comes out in bursts that are fun to watch and try to capture in photos. Kris and Mark have been together for a while and a new home with a new dog are the first steps to building a happy family. If Louie is any indication of how things are going to be, their lives are bound to be full of positive energy (and completely adorable).
Read on for a bit more on how these two fit a puppy into their busy lifestyle.
Please tell us about yourself:
I am a senior publicist for INK Entertainment, a leading hospitality and entertainment company in Toronto. INK has a number of successful enterprises in North America, including a variety of restaurants, nightclubs, lounges, music festivals, concerts and soon, a hotel. As a publicist, I am responsible for managing, protecting and enhancing the image of INK and its venues. This entails a lot of media relations, marketing communications as well as event management. It’s definitely not a 9-5 job, but it’s challenging, satisfying and a lot of fun!
A bit about your pet:
King Louie, also known as Louie or Lou, is a F1 standard goldendoodle. We wanted a large breed that was dog/kid friendly with lots of love and energy. Fun fact: Louie is actually named after King Louie XIV. We were touring the Palace of Versailles in France this past summer when we got the email from our breeder telling us that our puppy was born. We decided that day to name him after one of France’s most popular kings.
What does your ideal weekend look like?
Our ideal (and typical) weekend includes cuddles in bed with Louie, followed by a giant steaming mug of coffee (we both have coffee addictions). Then we always visit Lou’s favorite place in the world – Bickford Park — for him to run around and play with his friends or go for long walks as a family. At night we usually hang out with friends, watch movies or go out to try a new restaurant. We are both huge foodies and love trying different local restaurants or new cuisine.
Describe your personal style:
Simple, tailored and classic.
What inspires you?
“Work hard and be nice to people” and “Treat others the way you want to be treated.” It’s simple: just treat people with respect and kindness, and they’ll treat you the same.
How would you describe the look and feel of your home?
Comfortable, cozy and functional. We live in the city and don’t have a ton of space, so all of our furniture has to be multi-purpose and have a lot of storage.
A story about Louie:
Louie first met his uncle Archie, who is a hundred pound full-grown Goldendoodle, and his uncle Dudley, a grown Wheaton terrier, when he was 8 weeks old. We expected him to be a little shy or a little scared. However, he didn’t even bat an eye – he immediately started trying to grab onto Archie’s tail or Dudley’s beard and would chase them around the yard. Even still, whenever we walk Louie and one of his uncles together, Louie grabs ahold of their leash with his mouth, and tries to walk them down the street. He is very sweet, but definitely has a sassy side to him!
