Get to know this talented sales rep and a dog named Macaroni
By the Get Leashed Doggy Style team
Maura and Macaroni are best buddies. Everyone we meet through Doggy Style features is friends with their dog, but there’s something special that happens when a dog and its human are so much alike. We choose our friends in life based on commonalities and interests. With dogs, we research to try to find a breed that suits our style, but becoming friends is something we can only hope for. Maura admits, Macaroni is her sidekick and loves to do as she does. As soon as you see them together, you know that their bond is stronger than most and they definitely have a heck of a good time together.
Read on as Maura tells us a bit more about her style and how Macaroni fits into it.
Please tell us about yourself:
I am a Sales Representative for Beam Suntory covering the Toronto territory. Working for a spirit company, I get to talk about the awesome products within our portfolio on a daily basis. We are constantly introducing new innovative additions which keeps it fun and interesting. I am on the road most of the day, which I love. I can’t picture myself sitting at a desk all day. When I’m not working, I am at the gym or out and about with friends. I love staying active, my mind goes somewhere else when I’m working out and once my head phones are in I get in the zone. I am a huge fan of live music so during the summer months I frequent a lot of music festivals and concerts.
A bit about your pet:
Macaroni is a 4 year old Boston Terrier. His name suits him to a T and from day one he has been a little goofball. He is my sidekick, goes with the flow, is happy lounging around watching movies or ripping around the park after his ball. I grew up with dogs and knew that I would get my own when the time was right. I was living just outside of Boston when I decided to start looking. It was a toss up between a french bulldog and a Boston but a friend of mine had a Boston Terrier named Tuxedo and after babysitting him a few times, my heart was set on the breed. Macaroni is American.

A story about Macaroni:
When I decided to move back to Toronto, we packed up the car and made the 12 hour drive in the dead of winter. There were a few heart stopping moments braving the snowy roads of Vermont, but we made it back in one piece. This is truly when Mac earned his sidekick status. There was also the time I flew home to visit my family and brought Mac on the plane with me when he was a puppy. Mac has had the luxury of sleeping in his bed or mine since I got him, so needless to say he wasn’t used to being in a confined space. It was a bit of a struggle getting him into the idea of the carrier bag for the flight. I recall waiting to board and Mac making the most horrific screaming sounds from his bag while everyone looked at me as if I was killing him. The vet told me a little piece of a Gravol tablet would help him sleep during the flight, which it did – thank god! Lucky for me the flight from Boston to Toronto was under 3 hours.
