Inside Canada’s first SHINOLA store

Toronto Welcomes The Dog-Friendly Detroit Brand

Shinola Toronto Store Opening

It’s no secret; we’ve been pretty vocal about our love for made-in-America brand, Shinola. From their collab with Bruce Weber to their #SayNiceThings campaign, it’s easy to get behind what they stand for and of course, what they make.

When we found out Shinola’s first-ever, standalone Canadian store, located at 1000 Queen West (at Ossignton), was to be pet-friendly, we knew we couldn’t miss the chance to see inside.

You may not know it but Shinola makes leashes, collars, toys and more, for dogs all with the same level of quality and style as their human designs. Only available online, you may want to join the waiting list for our favorite item, the Signature Dog Leash.

Get Leashed popped by for the media opening and, lucky for us, Shinola’s Creative Director, Daniel Caudill was there to give us a first look. Caudill even selected some choice Shinola items with the Get Leashed reader and their pet-centered lifestyle in mind.

As Caudill explained it, Shinola’s design philosophy accounts for, “how you’re going to use it” before “how it looks” when creating new items.

Being as close as Toronto is to Detroit and the fact that it’s the first Canadian store, there is a lot of excitement on the Shinola side. We at Get Leashed understand it, we couldn’t be more thrilled.
