Forget about petting it or stroking it; some people have a hard time even holding it with two hands. And sometimes it can get stuck in your zipper — a reminder to always look after your wiener. We’re talking about Dachshunds, of course. Wait, what were YOU thinking? Perv.

These lovable, silky, curious and brave little buggers have always received the short end of the pogo-stick when it comes to puns.

But we love our celebrity doxies all the same. Whether it’s Crusoe The Celebrity Dachshund or Ammo The Dachshund, these ridiculously engineered pups are winning hearts and minds all over the Internet. That’s why we’re celebrating with gusto the opening of Seth Rogen’s dark comedy, Sausage Party, in theatres on August 12th.

Sausage Party is a 3D adult computer animated comedy that follows a hot dog sausage who tries to discover the truth to his existence and goes on a journey with his friends to escape their fate. It features a stellar voice cast including Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill, Bill Hader, Michael Cera, James Franco, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Paul Rudd, Nick Kroll, David Krumholtz, Edward Norton and Salma Hayek.

There has been a lot of controversy around this film. A red-band trailer for the film was accidentally playing before a showing of the PG-rated Finding Dory at a Concord, California multiplex this past June. Rogen later tweeted that the story “made his day.”

When Rogen submitted the film to the MPAA, they assigned it with an NC-17 rating due to a piece of pubic hair being visible on one of the characters. In order to be re-assigned an R rating, the pubic hair was digitally removed. You’ve gotta love Rogen’s warped sense of humor!
