As Director of Influencer Partnerships at Digital Media Management, Dave Giglio oversees the social media strategies of Hollywood’s most famous influencers and brands. So it’s no surprise that the day he rescued his pup Stanley, the entire adoption was documented on social media. Now the light-eyed pup has his own Instagram account, and “work station” at Dave’s dog-friendly office. Without a doubt, this stunning duo break hearts walking down the sidewalks of West Hollywood
Please tell us about yourself, your profession, and what a typical work day is like.
I am an Influencer Marketing Professional living in Los Angeles. I start my days at 6:30 am walking Stanley, then I go to Crossfit and cook myself a healthy breakfast: green smoothie, yogurt & granola, a bowl of berries, and three fried eggs (so LA! I know). Then Stanley and I head to my dog-friendly office in Beverly Hills, and the rest of my day is a mix of pitching ideas, calls with clients, managing campaigns – with the odd break to walk Stanley. He loves being an office dog and my co-workers are just obsessed with him.
Would we know any of your clients?
Absolutely ! My team has worked directly on influencer campaigns involving everyone from A-list celebrities to Instagram stars! Some clients include Warners Bros, Fox, Lionsgate, Equinox, Interscope Records, Scholastic, Jamba Juice, and even Barkbox.
Please tell us a bit about your dog. How did he come into your life? Is there a story behind the name or particular breed?
Stanley is a blue-eyed, 6 month old Australian Labradoodle. Stanley’s entire litter was saved by a rescue in West Hollywood, and I saw him at a roadside adoption display outside Alfred’s (a popular LA coffee shop) on my way to the beach! I met Stanley but wasn’t shopping for a dog. Needless to say, I thought about him the whole time I was in Malibu that day. I stopped back at the adoption event on my way home, but didn’t vibe well with the rescue representative – so I actually left! The next day, I was en route to a friend’s house and heard about a dog event happening en route, so I swung by. The first thing I see? The same litter of pups! After seeing Stanley three times in 24 hours I took it as a sign to at least apply. Let’s be honest, he was choosing me at this point! I named him Stanley after Stanley Park in Vancouver, Canada. When I lived there, I ran through that park almost every day. Since I live in LA now, I rarely walk anywhere because this is such a driving city. Stanley’s name is a constant reminder to get outside and see the magic of the outdoors.
How would you describe your personal style?
“Ath-leisure.” I basically live in fashionable workout clothes. My favorite brands are all pretty casual: Lululemon, Nike, Kit & Ace, All Saints, and Orlebar Brown.
How would you describe the look and feel of your home?
My home in Vancouver was a brick-walled loft in Gastown, filled with gorgeous wood furniture, dried lavender & plants, candles, terrariums and unobstructed views of the North Shore Mountains. I was much more of a homebody there, but since moving to LA, I find that I’m rarely at home. I’m gone exploring California on weekends, or outside soaking up the sun every chance I get … so this question is funny because I’m realizing how long I’ve been in this apartment, and that I can’t remember the last time I bought something for it! So I’ll call the look & feel of my LA home “unfinished for now”.
What does your ideal weekend look like?
I’m really not a big city guy … so my favorite weekends are spent going up to Mammoth in the winter, or camping in one of Southern California’s many beautiful campgrounds in the summer. When I am in town I start the day at Runyon with Stanley, grabbing an açai bowl and almond milk latte, catching up with friends on outdoor patios and going to see concerts. What inspires you?
– COMMUNITY, and the power of people when they come together around a common interest. ex. Burning Man is a magical place for that very reason.
– ART, it always inspires me to create more than I consume.
– NATURE, it’s the one place I feel the most in-tune with my ‘home’ frequency.
Finally, can you leave us with a funny story about Stanley?
I was at a concert in Santa Monica and I left Stanley at home for the first time. When I came back home and opened the door, his mouth was covered in a bright red liquid – I freaked out! Did he eat a mouse? Did he hurt himself? I’m running around the apartment like a mad man, and find out that he got into my roommate’s room, and has licked red paint off one of his palettes. Luckily, it was non-toxic paint, and he the vet said he was fine – but for the next few days his poop was painting the town red. (LOLS so maybe funny now, but not so much at the time)
