For the practical pooch and the complicated cat alike, technology isn’t exclusive to the realm of humans. The Consumer Technology Association’s annual Consumer Electronics Show (International CES) in Las Vegas just wrapped up, and there were plenty of new gadgets from innovative new start-ups for pets.

Petcube has been making an attractive interactive camera that has made its way to North American big-box retailers. The award-winning product now has a compact counterpart that lets you remotely operate a laser pointer to play with your pet from your smartphone. Not only that, this 3-inch cube, has 2-way audio/video communication, night vision, sound and motion alerts, and a cloud recording service.

What is it, a time machine? … In a way, yes. The new Litter-Robot III is a technological fantasy come true – a self-cleaning litter box for your cat! It’s completely automated, so when your cat is finished, the Litter-Robot III will appear to have gone back in time, automatically sifting the litter into a drawer for you!
