Unfortunately, cats don’t have the lives they deserve in these Japanese islands.
Cats have been suffering from health problems which could have been easily treated if the resources were available.
There are too many cats in the islands and barely enough vets to take care of them. Many cats are dying early.
Thankfully, the Japanese government has stepped in to take action in protecting these beautiful animals.
The government has put in place a “trap-neuter-return” program which consists of trapping, neutering or spraying the cats and giving them the necessary care before returning them to the island.
The islands’ residents have seen the positive results of this program and greatly appreciate the government in taking care of their beloved companions who are the highlight of their lives.
