A unique festival experience in celebration of rescued animals
By The Get Leashed Events Team
It seems like every other weekend, there’s some great festival where you can take your dog for an afternoon of getting out in the world and schmoozing. Dog Tales Rescue and Sanctuary has planned something so special, it’s more of a wonderland than a festival, all in celebration of rescue animals. This Saturday, August 26 and Sunday, August 27th, from 11-5, head to King City to experience the festival in its third year.
Guests can enjoy vegetarian and vegan cuisine, browse the latest offerings from curated pet vendors, plus participate in fun activities with their dogs. The festival is also a chance for the organization to highlight the incredible work they do year-round, offering care to dogs, horses, and other abandoned animals in need, while finding perfect forever homes for hundreds of dogs.
Last year’s festival drew over 6 000 people, while this year’s is slated to be bigger and better than ever! If you’ve ever considered, even for a moment, rescuing a dog over another means of adding one to your family, this is the place to hear inspiring and honest stories about animal adoption in a supportive community.
For those unfamiliar with the King City based organization, they are set along 50 acres of green fields, rolling hills, and wooded areas – a magically picturesque home for surrendered animals. Dog Tales is home to walking trails, therapy pools, and a grooming spa for neglected and abused animals to seek rehabilitation before being paired with a new parent. It’s both love and devotion to rescue that keeps the place going, offering a home to these animals for as long as they need one.
If you can’t make it to this year’s festival but are interested in Dog Tales, have a look at their adoptable dogs or see how you can get involved by donating or becoming a volunteer. Happy festivalin’.
