One of the many memories I have with “abuelita’, my grandma is when we’d watch Spanish soap operas and learn about the different Royal families. We would spend hours reading magazines and loved any of the Royal family’s celebrations. The last event we watched together was Prince William’s wedding to Kate Middleton. What a beautiful event. Her dress … priceless.

The British Royal Family has always been a “top” story for paparazzi, with even the Queen’s Corgis getting a lot of press attention.

Don’t worry if you don’t follow this famous family to the extent that I do – I’ll give you a quick update. Recently the youngest of Prince Charles and Diana’s children, Prince Harry, announced his engagement to American actress Meghan Markle. Meghan has moved to London and put a stop to her acting career to start her new life as a member of the British Royal Family. Their wedding is planned for Spring 2018.

Besides their love and her ring (gorgeous!) there are two other important things to discuss: Meghan’s dogs!

Meghan, who is known for supporting different humanitarian causes around the world, loves her adorable dogs, Bogart, a Labrador-Shepherd, and Guy, a Beagle (one is already settled in across the pond!). If you take a peek at Meghan’s Instagram account you will see she is a huge dog lover.

Meghan said in an interview for Best Health Magazine, she adopted Bogart because Ellen DeGeneres told her to adopt him after looking at a Los Angeles animal shelter,

“Now, I don’t know her, but Ellen goes ‘Is that your dog?’ And I said, ‘No,’ and she’s like, ‘You have to take that dog.’ And I said, ‘Well, I’m deciding.’ And she’s like, ‘Rescue the dog!’” “It’s sort of like if Oprah tells you to do something. I’m sitting there holding him and she’s like ‘Have you thought of a name for him yet?’ And I said, ‘Well, I think I’d name him Bogart,’ and she’s like ‘You’re taking the dog home.’”

A year after adopting Bogart she adopted Guy and since then both pups have been her loyal companions.

Prince Harry’s fiancee confirmed in the couple’s recent BBC interview that Guy has been living with her in London for some time. Prince Harry’s communications secretary has stated Bogart, Markle’s six-year old beagle, is in the care of close friends in Canada. He may not be well enough to make the cross Atlantic flight.

Even though her life will change forever, it seems the love she has for her dogs will not change a bit.

Congrats to Meghan, Harry, and the pups! We wish them a lifetime of happiness. #adoptdontshop
