These Jewish Pets Of Instagram Are Celebrating Hanukkah

Who else is ready to get lit like a menorah?

I will be the first one to admit that I don’t know much about Hanukkah. Most of my limited knowledge comes from Friends and the fact that Joey brought out a menorah when there was a black out and when Ross dressed up like an Armadillo to try to get his son excited about being half-Jewish. There was something about the Maccabees??? So, full disclosure, I’m not an expert on this holiday.

That’s why we have the Internet, my friends. We have the pet community on Instagram to give us a little peek into this important celebration. And if they’re kind enough to answer our questions, we get to learn a little more!

For now and thanks to Google, I know that the first night of Hanukkah has happened and families everywhere are lighting the first candle with their pets! And where can we see these adorable furry babies get ready for this Jewish holiday? Instagram of course!

Let’s see how the Jewish dogs of Instagram are spending the first night of Hanukkah:

When you’re excited about celebrating the fact that your ancestors overthrew King Atiochus and reclaimed the Temple, you’ve got to let everyone know on your walk that it’s Hanukkah and you’re ready to party!

Move over, everyone else. Monty the Doodle just stole the award for Most Decked Out for the first night of Hanukkah. All challengers must top this for the rest of the nights.

Beau dressed to the nines for the first night of Hanukkah. We love the adorable design and of course the attitude on his face. He knows he’s fluffy and adorable.

An Independent article says, “They say every major Jewish holiday can be summed up by the following quote: ‘They tried to kill us, we won, let’s eat.'”

Riggins is the ultimate dreidel champion! All challengers who want to try to defeat him in a game of Gelt should know they have difficult feat ahead.

Forget about the menorah – Sunny the Doodle is getting lit for ALL eight days of Hanukkah. Literally. We do advise all other lit dogs take moments to let others take a break from basking in their Lit-ness.

Teddy the Norwich looks more like a tiny Capybara in disguise. Either way, this fluffer is ready to eat some donuts for all eight nights! (Jewish families celebrate the burning of the lamp by eating fried foods in oil AKA donuts).

We know that some families exchange chocolate coins during Hanukkah, but for our doggy friends we hope you trade the chocolate for some of the super-special doggy treats!

We hope you have a happy Hanukkah!
