Where would an artist be if it wasn’t for the support of their fans? I enjoy seeing celebrities giving back to their communities, to their fans, and helping those in need. The summer of 2017 is one that will stay in memory for many, many years. It felt like Mother Nature wasn’t happy at all by sending storms and hurricanes which devastated many areas. It seemed as if they would never stop coming.

Country singer Kenny Chesney reached out by helping to transport 100 dogs from the U.S. Virgin Islands which was greatly affected by Hurricane Irma, to Palm Beach International Airport.
After this tragedy, many pets had to fend for themselves. These pets were taken to no-kill shelters in Jacksonville, Florida and surrounding areas.

Chesney, whose home in St. John’s was destroyed by Hurricane Irma, assisted in loading the dogs to safety. After this year’s devastating hurricane season, the country singer created the disaster relief fund Love For Love City which works with local charities to help provide food, water, medical supplies, and the materials and resources to rebuild.

Sadly, these dogs were abandoned, homeless or stranded on the islands after Hurricanes Maria and Irma destroyed most of the islands’ infrastructures. Most families were evacuated and were forced to leave their pets behind allowing them only to bring themselves.
